Special Announcements

    • JOIN US  for the Celebration of Epiphany, the Festival of Three Kings/Tres Reyes at St. Peter's!
    • This Sunday, January 5 at the conclusion of the 10 AM Holy Communion Service the Gospel Procession will call in the Kings, who will announce their allegiance to the King of Kings, our Lord Jesus, and carry with them their gifts for the King as well as their gifts for all the children.  Bring your children to church to hear the story, and to receive gifts in the Parish Hall.
The gifts are received as a special donation from U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents at Kennedy Airport - special thanks to Agent Mark Mather, who along with wife Linda are members of St. Paul Lutheran in Amityville, NY.
  • On FRIDAY, JANUARY 10, at 5 PM we will journey to Martin Luther Court Apartments, 380 Belmont Avenue, Brooklyn, 11207 with the Three Kings to bring gifts we have gathered over the holidays for the senior residents there.  If you want to attend, just come to church at 4:30 or meet us there - the hospitality is great, and we'll be joined by saints from St. John the Evangelist in Williamsburg.
  • We  mourn the loss of Rafael Sierra, a former member of St. Peter's, dear husband of Lorrie (Criscuolo), who died in the Lord at the age of 58.  With their twin sons, grandchildren, and extended family we thank God for his life and love and await the joy of the eternal banquet feast in heaven when we will all be together forever.  Pastor Benke brought the message and committal on January 2, 2020, at George Werst Funeral Home - a video of Rafael and the family is available here:  https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/glendale-ny/rafael-sierra-8977911. ; Many former members of St. Peter's were in attendance from "back in the day" on Norwood Avenue, where the Criscuolo homestead at 57 Norwood brought so many together including Bonnie and Sharon Alexander and their families.
  • WE MOURN with tremendous sadness, and yet always in hope of eternal Light in Christ, at the loss of Nathaniel Kisten, the 16-year-old middle son of Alvin and Diana Kisten, who died in his sleep on New Year's Eve.  Schedule of services and visitation is as follows:

Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from henceforth - yea, says the Spirit, and their works do follow them.  Rest in peace, Rafael and Nathaniel, with all the saints in light perpetual.
